Pharmaceuticals bad for you? No!!!

Pharmaceuticals can't be bad for you, can they??? An article in the Calgary Herald titled "Sleeping pills can increase risk of early death, study suggests" made me chuckle...

Uncontrollable Weather Controls Mood

I was standing at an all inclusive resort bar in Dominican Republic just a few hours after arriving in that tropical paradise. My second time ever out of Canada/to a resort. Both within a month. I was on cloud nine, so imagine my surprise when a woman walked up with her luggage, slammed it down, and started shouting about how horrible her vacation was due to the inclement weather. I turned a little bit in the other direction avoiding eye contact and not wanting to get pulled into her tirade or share some of the bad energy she was giving off.It was her last day at the resort, thankfully, but I still couldn't believe how she acted. I mean you're in a beautiful tropical paradise. The rain is part of the package in my opinion. And you can always just dress for the weather, and still go enjoy almost all the same things as you would or could when it's sunny out, except for lying on the beach drinking margaritas. And that's all that lady wanted to do, get a tan and get drunk all week. And she wasn't able to accomplish it, so it ruined her whole experience.

It's interesting how something totally out of our control has such a large control on our mood.

I Hate Apple

I'm in the middle of watching Walter Isaacson's interview where he is talking about his book "Steve Job's".

I hate Apple for making a product that is almost as disposable as the yellow Bic razor's you can find at your local store.

Why doesn't everyone see the problem with a product that doesn't have a accessible battery that you can change after it has worn out? Batteries don't last forever. The electronics will always outlast the battery.

I love the interview. What a great video. What a great man. But why are the Ipods/Ipads so disposable???

STOP USING SO MANY BATTERIES

Just a quick thought....
I bought a nice set of cordless phones, one base and a few satellite phones hooked off it. Within a year the batteries started failing.... A new set of batteries is more then the whole set of phones. At that point I just recycled my phones, and bought two $10 Walmart phones. If I need, I'll get a 50ft extension cord. These phones could last me forever:)

I haven't bought a cordless mouse in years for the same reason. Why would I want to deal with a dead battery when a USB hookup will never let me down?

Prices of batteries keep going up because there are some rare metals involved in making them, and if we aren't careful the prices will soon be so prohibitive we will wonder why we wasted so many batteries in the past.
