I read this aloud to my students after my Yoga classes around Christmas time and just found this again, I thought I would share it before it's forgotten.
As People pass away or drift away I come to the realization that our family has become smaller in terms of place settings at the dinner table, I also have to acknowledge the blessings we have been fortunate to have up until now
For those of us that remain at the Christmas dinner I know we will all be looking forward to Christmas presence.
No, that's not a mistake. I meant to say 'presence' instead of 'presents' because that is what I truly wish for Christmas.
Lots and lots of presence. I don't wish for presence just for myself, but presence for everyone else as well.
I wish for the presence of respect. The presence of respect allows for the sharing of ideas, culture, and values.
I wish for the presence of friendships. The presence of friends to lean on when times are rough as well as their presence in times of celebration.
I wish for the presence of hope. Enough hope to carry us through the dark and keep us moving forward during the toughest of journeys.
I wish for the presence of laughter. To be able to not only share laughter with others but to be blessed enough to laugh at ourselves.
I wish for the presence of humbleness. To be able to recognize that much of what we enjoy is the result of another's contributions. Contributions from parents, coworkers, friends and neighbors. That in some cases people we have never met and will never know have contributed to the point of sacrificing. Some by having less for themselves. Others by giving their very lives for our freedom.
Have a very present Christmas.

Constable Assaults Driver
Happy New Years everyone.
Thought I would throw up an old article I found laying around. Ryan Guthrie is a still current friend whom I met in grade 8 at Senator Patrick Burns Junior High School.
I had never heard about this incident and only found out as I was randomly browsing through the news paper one day.

Signs Of Emotional Abuse In A Relationship
Excerpt from Live Bold and Bloom
Although emotional abuse doesn’t always lead to physical abuse, physical abuse is almost always preceded and accompanied by emotional abuse.
-They regularly demean or disregard your opinions, ideas, suggestions, or needs.
-They accuse you of being “too sensitive” in order to deflect their abusive remarks.
- They belittle and trivialize you, your accomplishments, or your hopes and dreams.
- They try to make you feel as though they are always right, and you are wrong.
- They give you disapproving or contemptuous looks or body language.
- They accuse or blame you of things you know aren’t true.
- They are intolerant of any seeming lack of respect.
-They make excuses for their behavior, try to blame others, and have difficulty apologizing.
- They blame you for their problems, life difficulties, or unhappiness.
-They call you names, give you unpleasant labels, or make cutting remarks under their breath.
- They are emotionally distant or emotionally unavailable most of the time.
- They don’t show you empathy or compassion.
- They disengage or use neglect or abandonment to punish or frighten you.

Alfatoxins Cause Cancer
In this video they mention that in the 70's scientists conducted experiments feeding sharks alfatoxins to see if they would get cancer. I thought I would duckduckgo alfatoxins and found the Wikipedia article interesting to say the least.

Unbiased Reporting Arrives in Calgary
In case anyone missed it, both the Calgary Herald and the Calgary Sun will be produced in one news room from now on. Couldn't create a more biased news reporting atmosphere if you tried.
